Music Monday: Little Praise Party - Happy Day Every Day
Hello there. It's time for some good music. This time, for the kids.
I have spoke before about my good friend Yancy (read here). She does lots of music for many audiences. One of those are her preschool buddies. We took Madison this Christmas to see her perform her Christmas CD and there were little guys and gals rockin and rollin in the aisles.
She's entertaining, creative and rocks! Her latest from her "Little Praise Party" series is called "Happy Day, Every Day". Madison has to listen to it at least once a day. We play it in the morning while she dances in her tutu, plays with her toys or plays along with her Yancy kazoo. The music is well done, songs are thoughtfully written and they are not so kid like that you'll want to run your car into a concrete wall. I promise! You'll be singing and bee bopping right along with your kids.
She has help with some vocals by Max Hoffman. And, her dad Jim Wideman helps out on a couple songs. Also, "Away in a Manger" features vocals by a young Quinn O'Donnell (Daughter of christian artist, Erin O'Donnell). Very sweet.
The CD focuses on giving thanks and praising God EVERY day. This is shown in songs such as "Brand New Day", "Love One Another" and "I Like To". There are also themed songs for holidays such as Valentine's Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas and even a Birthday song. All are great and have great "catchy" bits in them. It makes them easy to remember, sing and even dance to. Madison is 2 and runs around singing "Ho Ho Hosanna". I get "one, two, three" stuck in my head as well as "Go, go go! Go into all the world".
I promise you will not be disappointed. And make sure to get the DVD. Yancy works with the greatest animators and you can watch her and her friends singing the tunes, and illustrating what is being said. So cute! It's a must!
She also has special packages available if you're a Children's Minister or Music Minister at your church. You'll love to either use these songs in your ministry as background music for nursery/preschool, for teaching purposes or to perform a song for the church. The kids will have so much fun learning about Jesus, jumping, singing and cheering that I promise it will minister to your entire congregation! (And, it's not bad to have an Easter/Christmas song on hand for special performance)
So check out her site. Pick up some music for your kids and while you're at it, check out some of Yancy's music for yourself. She's not all about kids and she's been rocking for a long time. I promise you'll find something you'll love. If anything, pick up her Christmas CD. One of my favorites of all time.
