Thanksgiving

This was the first year that it was just the three of us. It was kind of nice. It was a quiet day and dark and gloomy outside. Of course, it was really warm, but if you just sat inside and didn't venture out, you'd think it was a nice winter's day.

We started the day by watching the Macy's Day Parade. Madi got to enjoy it for the first time. She clapped for all the bands and laughed and pointed at the floats. She waved hello and goodbye when they went to commercial. Too funny. We had to watch it in parts and I can say after her nap she wasn't as interested. Of course, how many bands can she watch? But, we did get to see Santa usher in the season. It was fun.

I worked in the kitchen most of the day while Stephen got some good Daddy Madi time. When it came time for dinner, Madi got to try it all. Fresh cranberry sauce, turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans and fresh dressing (that I made from scratch for the first time). She loved EVERYTHING! I can say this, I have an eater. She was nuts about it all. She kept signing "more" and "please". Too funny.

We were thankful. Thankful for all that we have in spite of the flood. Thankful that Stephen had a safe trip overseas. Thankful that there is work to be had and money to be made. Thankful that we got this year with our new addition. And thankful for God's provision and love. All is well.
